This painting is on MDF and framed with recycled Styrofoam coated with stucco.
Once I painted the scene, I cut the boarder with a jigsaw.
The wonderful thing was that I could paint it in my studio, always a bonus not having to travel to work.
After I hung it at the clients house, I added the grout.

The goal of this job for the designer was to keep these existing new cabinets while changing out the stove hood. The cabinet guy made the hood to fit the space left by the previous hood. The client needed to use her kitchen while the work was being completed, so, I painted it in the basement, let it dry for 2 weeks, and then the cabinet guy returned for the installation.
Primed and ready to faux.
I painted the pewter then I added the flexible molding and rivets.
The flex molding was painted as cast iron to give it contrast.

This was originally simple drywall with a brass fireplace. The designer found this beautiful stone fireplace. She had the wall tiled and added the columns and cap. I then painted the columns and cap to tie it all together.

Seriously, I’m not even trying to be ironic. This tree is made out of junk mail, a telephone book and a box of used office paper. Then I coat it with nontoxic hardeners and paint.

This blog is late but better late than never, ae? I now have art hanging at Trieste on South First St. downtown San Jose. This show “2 in 1” showcases two styles art: a series of fantastic landscapes painted on canvas, and a series of three-dimensional shapes made from recycled materials.
The landscape paintings are part of an ongoing series that began many years ago.I continue to paint them because they inspire my imagination, enhance my feelings of happiness and calm, and stir my excitement to create.
The three-dimensional pieces represent my love of the Earth. Being a tree-hugger,I always reuse and recycle. This series of sculptures is made entirely from rescued materials. The core is made of Styrofoam collected from shipping packages, friends and even Dumpsters (which might be illegal, hmm). Then I apply a combination of old paint clothes, junk mail, phone books — basically anything with natural fibers headed for the trash. Dipping these flexible materials in non-toxic glue gives them strength to hold interesting shapes. Finally, the piece is finished with “Aqua Brand” textures and paint which are non-toxic. The result is an environmentally friendly piece of art.
